MICROANIMATIONS SCIENCE FICTION BETWEEN PAST AND FUTURE: FROM THE THAUMATROPE TO GIF ANIMATES

Saturday 1 October 2022 - Modena  Workshop for 8-13 year-old children. In collaboration with the Future Film Festival. Moving images have always been a source of wonder and fun, attracting the young and the old. In collaboration with the Future Film Festival, which in this edition is dedicated to the theme "Retrofuture", FMAV proposes a workshop to discover the first inventions that led cinema and animation. Starting with the expressive illustrations from the Museo della Figurina evoking science fiction, participants will try their hand at constructing a double analogue and digital micro-animation: from the ancient Victorian game, the thaumatrope, to the more contemporary animated gifs. The workshop is free. Maximum 15 participants. Free entry to the Fondazione Modena Arti Visive exhibition for the accompanying adult. Reservation required on fmav.org
