He recounts in this film the story of his family that comes from a small Piedmontese village. He depicts the harsh conditions of life in the early 20th century, hunger, wars, mourning and finally the decision to emigrate to France to start a new life with Italy in one’s heart. A moving, yet comical tale more necessary today than ever about the time when Italians were 'the foreigners'.
