ARCHIPELAGO

(Archipel) by Félix Dufour-Laperrière, Canada, 2021, 72' Original version with Italian subtitles The film is a docucomedy that recounts the director's odyssey in his native province of Quebec. The place is described with a mix of filming and animation, using many different techniques for this incredible mockumentary. The whole thing takes the form of a philosophical essay on how a place transforms into a community. Young director Dufour-Laparrière, whose debut feature Ville Neuve (2018) was presented at the Biennale Cinema's Venice Days, works here with a drawing animation, with dreamlike and immersive images.
