In recent months, we have received numerous requests for updates on the upcoming edition from authors, industry professionals, and audiences.
At this time, we believe it is important to share transparently that the festival will most likely not take place this spring.
The collaboration with Rete Doc — the cooperative that has overseen the Festival’s production since 2021 and played a key role in its post-pandemic relaunch — comes to an end following the celebration of the Festival’s 25th anniversary.
Despite the structural challenges of the cultural sector and ongoing uncertainties related to public funding and its timelines, the Festival has experienced significant growth, expanding its audience and strengthening its national positioning. This progress has also been made possible thanks to the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, the Municipalities of Bologna and Modena, as well as Foundations and partners who have backed the project.
A new phase now begins: 24FRAME Future Film Fest is seeking new investors and strategic partners interested in further developing a platform that has become a national point of reference for animation.
In the meantime, other activities continue. Sunday Anime and Future Film Kids screenings will go on, alongside the Advanced Training Course in 2D Paperless Cutout Animation and the “Cinema and Images for Schools” projects dedicated to students in Bologna and Modena.
