In 2009, it’s wallpainting time. The symbolic image of the eleventh edition is painted on the wall of the “Casa di Khaoula” library in Bologna by DEM, a versatile and ironic artist able to create bizarre characters, surreal creatures, enigmatic and arcane inhabitants of some imperceptible layer of the human reality.
The face of the eleventh edition of the FFF is therefore that of new creatures and characters that arise from the union of human and animal forms, plants and flowers, showing the observer a flow of images via animation or live action.
DEM (1978, Cotogno) exhibited at the Stamperia Squadro Gallery in January 2009 in the first Italian solo exhibition dedicated to him by the Future Film Festival as part of ArteFiera Off. His wallpainting production is very wide-ranging, and mostly carried out inside abandoned factories, chosen as the ideal background for his works. DEM has also produced drawings for various publications, had a solo exhibition at the Oro Gallery in Gothenburg and participated in the exhibitions Street Art, Sweet Art at PAC in Milan, Street Lab at Stazione Termini in Rome and Nomadaz at the Scion Installation in Los Angeles.
